The Jaltest Telematics platform has three updates per year, which include enhancements and new functionalities.

You can find all the information about the software solutions offered by Jaltest Telematics in the section “Jaltest Telematics Configurator”.

The devices considered in order to provide telematics and remote diagnostics services depend on the type of vehicle. Specifically, for trailers and semi-trailers, the T-DOT device must be installed, and for the rest of motor vehicles (trucks, vans, buses, agricultural equipment or OHW equipment) the device that must be installed is the T-VOD. In case the diagnostics services are not needed, a T-VOD Lite can be installed. Furthermore, additional hardware devices may be required, depending on the modules subscribed.

Skrót FMS oznacza "system zarządzania flotą". Jest to standardowy interfejs dostępu do danych pojazdów użytkowych (ciężarówek i autobusów). W 2002 roku sześciu dużych europejskich producentów postanowiło opracować ten standard: DAF, Daimler AG, IVECO, MAN, VOLVO/RENAULT i SCANIA. Standard FMS gromadzi szereg danych przesyłanych za pośrednictwem protokołu J1939, łącząc między innymi dostęp do danych tachografu i jest uniwersalnym źródłem informacji i komunikacji.

In its basic version, Jaltest Telematics offers a series of data obtained from the FMS bus (or equivalent).This data forms the basis for the following reports: idle time, speed report, RPM, consumption, brake use, use of inertia, distance traveled, and some sections of the efficient driving calculation.

Any vehicle equipped with FMS has a specific connector established by the FMS standard. Depending on the brand and model, its location will be different. Our technical department will confirm if your vehicle is equipped with it or not. In case your vehicle does not have FMS, we will suggest an alternative to have access to the maximum amount of information possible by connecting through an equivalent CAN bus.

Remote diagnostics enables a connection to all electronic control units (ECU) fitted to the vehicle that are supported by Jaltest Diagnostics. This connection allows fault codes to be read and classified as "active" or "inactive". For each fault code, additional information is also retrieved relating to the fault codes recorded by the ECUs at the time the fault code occurred. This information is very useful when analysing the conditions under which the fault code occurred.

Ponadto każda jednostka sterująca posiada zestaw danych, które ją identyfikują oraz grupę pomiarów, które umożliwiają poznanie i ocenę prawidłowego działania jednostki sterującej, a tym samym prawidłowego działania pojazdu. Niektóre przykłady tych pomiarów to: poziom zużycia klocków hamulcowych, procent zanieczyszczeń w filtrze paliwa, data następnego przeglądu oleju w zależności od warunków użytkowania, ciśnienie pompy paliwa itp.

Dostęp do tych informacji otwiera drzwi do ulepszeń, które nie były wcześniej rozważane w kontekście konwencjonalnych rozwiązań telematycznych, promując pożądaną koncepcję konserwacji predykcyjnej i alarmów opartych na rzeczywistym stanie pracy pojazdu.

Remote diagnostics enable one-off connections to the vehicle, either on demand or via automatic schedules. Thanks to these connections, it is possible to check the vehicle status at any time, monitor its key operating parameters and receive alerts when faults are detected or when certain values exceed the limits previously defined by the user.

A digital tachograph is a monitoring device whose ultimate purpose is the same as that of an analogue tachograph. However, unlike the analogue version, the digital tachograph records information relating to the vehicle and its drivers activities digitally, both in the tachograph’s internal memory and on the driver card. The traditional chart discs are thus replaced by smart driver cards.

The remote tachograph download is conditioned by the tachograph version installed in the vehicle. In general, the minimum compatible versions based on the tachograph brand are:

• Continental VDO: 1.3


• Stoneridge: 7.0

The reading of driver activity data, like remote download, is subject to certain conditions relating to the version of the tachographs. Specifically:

• Continental VDO: 2.0


• Stoneridge: 7.4

Furthermore, each manufacturer manages access to driver activity via an additional feature. Specifically for VDO, the so-called ‘COUNTER’ functionality must be enabled. In the case of Stoneridge, the required functionality is DDS.


It should be noted that VDO’s COUNTER functionality is enabled by default in versions 2.2 or later. However, for earlier versions, the following points must be taken into account:
